Preventive Care

Staying Healthy

Your medical benefits through the Washington Teamsters Welfare Trust cover most in-network preventive services, including certain office visits, tests and treatments, at 100%. Having necessary screenings and visits can help detect possible conditions early when treatment is more effective, and lower your risk of serious and costly diseases later.

Trust Medical Plan
Kaiser Permanente Plan
Overview

Preventive care includes covered well-adult and well-child physicals, immunizations, flu shots and appropriate preventive screening tests like mammograms, colonoscopies, and prostate exams. Covered eligible in-network preventive care is paid in full by the Trust — with no deductibles, co-insurance or co-pays. In some cases, if you already have a diagnosed medical condition, these types of services may be considered diagnostic rather than preventive and subject to annual deductible, copays, and coinsurance.

What's Covered

In-Network: Eligible services received in the BlueCard® PPO network are covered at 100%.

Out-of-Network: Eligible services received outside of the network are covered at the plan’s out-of-network coinsurance level after a copay per visit and deductible amounts are met.

Find an in-network provider, or call (800) 810-BLUE (2583) and reference the prefix TMP.

Log in or look to your benefits booklets for more information.  Booklets are available on-line at www.nwadmin.com.

What's Covered

In-Network: Services received in the Kaiser Permanente (formerly Group Health Options) network are covered at 100%.

Out-of-Network: If you choose out-of-network care, you can see First Choice Health or First Health network providers at a discounted rate. Or you may see any licensed provider you want, anywhere in the U.S., for most covered services. However, your out-of-pocket costs will be higher, and there may be additional paperwork.

Find an in-network provider online, or call Kaiser Permanente at (888) 901-4636.
