RiteAid/Bartells Bankruptcy Impact to Trust’s Rx Network
Recently the bankruptcy of RiteAid and Bartell pharmacies was announced with both chains being purchased by CVS. If you currently have your prescriptions filled at a RiteAid or Bartell location, you will be receiving a letter from MedImpact, the Trust’s prescription benefit network provider, regarding the change and how to transfer your prescriptions to a new in-network pharmacy.
CVS pharmacies are not a preferred provider in the Trust’s Rx network — if you choose to have your prescriptions filled by CVS, your out-of-pocket costs could increase.
To avoid a higher co-pay or interruption to your prescriptions, below are two ways to ensure you stay with a preferred provider and receive the lowest cost.
Use the Trust’s mail order pharmacy
Mail order is not only a convenient way to receive your medications, but also one of the most
cost effective. Mail order is a great choice for maintenance medications for ongoing conditions and can offer up to a 100-day supply per fill if prescribed.
Birdi™ is MedImpact’s mail order and specialty pharmacy service for the Trust’s PPO Medical Plans. Ordering through mail order could save you money. When you use Birdi mail order, you pay only the co-pay amount and, in many cases, can get a larger supply of your medication.
To transfer a prescription to mail order or get help getting a prescription filled, visit

Transfer your prescription to an in-network pharmacy
MedImpact gives you access to a nationwide network of pharmacies, including more than 350
preferred locations. Having your prescriptions filled by an in-network pharmacy will keep your costs down. Visit www.MedImpact.com and use the Pharmacy Locator tool to find an in-network retail pharmacy near you.
